George founded Mountain Heritage Systems in 1976 as an electrical contracting company. From the beginning, George’s priority has been to meet the ever changing demands of his customers. This desire has led to the evolution of MHS from the electrical contractor of those early years into the sophisticated custom electronic design and installation firm we are today. The MHS philosophy of always looking forward to the next opportunity and adopting new, innovative ideas comes directly from George’s leadership. This history of MHS is the story of George's professional life, click here to read more about where we’ve been and where we’re going.
With his background in high-voltage electrical, George spends much of his time designing and quoting stand-by generators, lighting protection system, gates, and electrical control systems. He holds a NC unlimited electrical license. George’s license and high-voltage knowledge and experience is very unique to most low-voltage contractors.
In his free time, George enjoys spending time and traveling with his family, especially his two granddaughters Stella and Charlotte. If not around the office or in high country, you can probably locate George in his home away from home, Ennis, Montana. There he enjoys fly fishing, sightseeing, ATVs, and spending time with all his friends. No matter the location, George enjoys the outdoors and many evenings you can find him relaxing with a nice glass of wine in front of the landscaped waterfall at his home.

Charley began his career with Mountain Heritage Systems in 1990 after graduating from Appalachian State University with a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. As one of the very first employees hired by MHS as we were transforming into a custom electronics installation company, he has worked in just about every capacity at one time or another. Many times performing several roles at once as our company has grown rapidly over the years. Charley’s 20+ years of experience, technical knowledge, and passion for audio/video have been instrumental in shaping MHS as it stands today.
A lifelong musician, the audio/video industry was a natural fit for Charley. He began playing the drums in elementary school and continued on through marching band in college. For many years during and after college, Charley performed around the region in his locally successful band. In recent years, Charley and his band have enjoyed reuniting occasionally for local events and fundraisers.
In addition to his degree from Appalachian State University, Charley maintains an impressive resume of certifications from manufacturers and trade organizations in both the fire/security and audio/video industries. He also holds a NC limited electrical license. Charley has received national recognition for his work through publications and industry awards. As an active member of the audio/video community he has been asked to contribute to articles and participate in manufacturer roundtable discussions.
Charley is a family man and much of his free time is devoted to participating in the activities and interest of his five children and wife michelle. In contrast to the high tech that Charley is surround by daily at work, he and his family enjoy working on their sizable farm. Much happy family time is spent attending to their ever growing variety of livestock, from cows to bees, and tending a large garden. As mentioned above, Charley enjoys practicing with his band and playing the regular performance.

Jason began his current position in sales in 2007, but he’s been a part of the Mountain Heritage team for many years prior. He began working for MHS in 1999 during summers and holiday breaks while still in high school. After graduation Jason attended Western Carolina University where he graduated in 2004 with a BS in Industrial Distribution and a Minor in Marketing. Throughout college he continued working during breaks in addition to working while at school on projects convenient to Cullowhee. By the time he graduated college, he had worked and excelled in install, service, and inspection capacities.
After graduation, Jason moved to Greensboro, NC for a short while. It was at this time that he realized he aptitude and enjoyment of sales. Coupled with his experience and technical background Jason was welcomed as a strong addition to our sales team when he began fulltime in 2007. Today, his knowledge and expertise spans all of the products we offer from basic security to the most advanced home automation systems.
In his free time, Jason can more than likely be found surrounded by his friends and family. An outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting and golf. Jason can always be counted on if MHS needs to put together a golf team for local business event or benefit.
